Asure PTM vs Tax Pilot

You already pay for the tax work to be handled. The questions worth asking are how much of it still comes back to your team, and how long you wait when something is time-sensitive.

Ready to switch?

Here’s how easy it is to get started.

We learn your setup

What is open, what is held, and what is owed back.

We connect through the API

Your payroll and tax data comes straight in.

We check it to the penny

Every wage, tax and deposit ties out against PTM within two weeks.

You move at a quarter start

Any held balances are reconciled and returned. Then PTM retires.

Nothing is irreversible until you say so.

Common questions.

Why do people move off Asure PTM?

In our experience the reason is rarely filing accuracy. It is how much still comes back to your team, how long a time-sensitive notice waits, and how long a fix takes once it is raised. Asure PTM is a proven bulk filer at volume; the questions people bring to us are about reachability.

What is the difference between Asure PTM and Tax Pilot?

Both file federal, state and local payroll tax and can run as a managed service. Tax Pilot takes employee-level payroll data, flags variances as they happen rather than at quarter end, and reconciles the bank daily. You see filed returns and status in the same platform as the team that runs it.

Can we run Tax Pilot ourselves?

Yes. Use the software on its own, share the work with our team, or hand it over fully, and change the mix later.

Can we keep our own bank accounts?

Yes. Funds can stay in an account you own until each payment is due, or Tax Pilot can hold them. An account used only for payroll tax keeps the daily reconciliation clean.

Who actually does the work?

Your team and ours work in the same platform, so status is never a phone call away. A named lead handles your account day to day, so nobody is reading your history for the first time while a deadline runs.

How hard is it to move?

Harder than moving software, because money movement is involved. Once the data ties out to the penny, everything moves at the start of a quarter, and a January 1 move lets Asure PTM finish the prior year’s W-2s. Cash collection switches on that date too, so it never runs in two places at once.

Does Tax Pilot have an API?

Yes. Payroll data flows in by direct API connection, with employee-level wage and tax detail on every payment, and files are accepted where there is no API. Unmapped tax codes are held and surfaced for review rather than dropped silently.

What does it cost?

Quoted before we start, against a defined scope. Registrations are priced per account, and cleanup of prior periods is priced separately.

Tell us what happens when you need an answer.

Who you contact, how long it takes, and how much comes back to your team. That is usually the whole comparison.
