Who hands it over.
You can’t hire top talent.
Payroll tax expertise takes years to build, and the people who have it are retiring faster than they are replaced. Six months waiting for the right hire is six months of backlog.
One person knows it all.
They are excellent, and they are a single point of failure. When they take leave, work stops. When they leave, it’s worse.
You want to onboard more complex companies.
If tax is what stops you saying yes to a complex account, this removes the constraint.
Tax isn’t your core business.
You would rather your team ran payroll and served clients than spent quarter end in agency portals.

Nothing has to move for us to start. Moving onto Tax Pilot only changes what you can see.
We work inside what you run today.
Your payroll system, your agency accounts, your process. We work through the authorizations you give us, and we track every one so access never lapses quietly.

We run the tax account.
If we are making the payments, the money moves through a tax account we hold and run. That is what lets us be accountable for the deposit landing on time.

Common questions.
What is managed payroll tax?
We run the whole payroll tax function with your team: registrations, filings and payments, notices, SUI rates, reconciliation, cleanup and audits. Your team keeps oversight and the decisions that need judgment, and the mechanical work moves to us.
Do we have to use your software?
No. Plenty of managed clients run on the payroll and tax systems they already have, and we work inside them. If you move onto our platform the reporting is live, but it is not a condition.
Can you run the tax account for us?
Yes, if it helps your team. Payments and filings are part of every managed engagement. Where you would rather not run the tax account yourself, we can hold it: tax is collected into it each payroll and paid to each agency on time.
What happens to our current tax person?
That is your call, and most teams keep them. The usual outcome is that they stop doing the calendar tracking and portal work and spend their time on the parts that need judgment.
How do we know what is happening?
Standing reporting plus a regular check-in. You see what was filed, what was paid and what is outstanding without having to ask.
What if you make a mistake?
We cover penalties caused by our error and pursue abatement on your behalf.
Can we start smaller?
Yes, and many do. A handful of states, notices only, or one entity. Scope grows when you are ready.
How is it priced?
It starts with a fixed-fee review that shows where things stand. Ongoing coverage is a monthly retainer, quoted before work begins.
What if we want to bring it back in house later?
Then we hand it back in an orderly way, with the calendar, the access and the history. We are not going to make leaving difficult.
What would your team do with the time back?
Tell us how your payroll tax runs today. We’ll show you what handing it over would look like for your operation.
